Start in Auckland, where the ship sails at seven in the evening, and spend the next ten nights working south. The Bay of Islands comes first, with the Waitangi Treaty Grounds and the old whaling town of Russell across the water, then Tauranga, for Rotorua or Hobbiton. After a day at sea, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin follow on consecutive days, and the last port day is in Fiordland: Dusky Sound in the morning, Doubtful Sound at midday and Milford Sound in the evening light. Two days at sea across the Tasman bring you home to Sydney on 20 February.
