About Scenic

Scenic is an Australian-owned line, founded in Newcastle in 1986, built around one idea: truly all-inclusive means everything, not a base fare with add-ons. Every suite across its two products, the Space-Ship river fleet in Europe and Asia and the Eclipse-class Discovery Yachts, comes with butler service, all dining and all-inclusive drinks. It suits couples and experienced travellers who want a small, personalised ship and are happy to pay for genuine inclusions rather than piece a cruise together themselves.

Scenic has no Australian homeport this year. Australians fly to Europe for the Rhine, Danube, Rhône or Douro, to Vietnam or Cambodia for the Mekong on Scenic Spirit, or via Buenos Aires to Ushuaia for a 2026 to 27 season of Antarctica voyages on Scenic Eclipse II. Eclipse II’s popular Kimberley, Queensland and New Zealand programme, with two helicopters and a submersible on board, is on hold and confirmed to return in 2028; we can register interest now.

Space-Ships carry up to 163 guests in suites among the largest on Europe’s rivers, with Crystal Dining, the River Café and a Chef’s Table at Table La Rive. Scenic Spirit is a 68-guest boutique ship on the Mekong. Scenic Eclipse and Eclipse II carry 228 guests each with a crew ratio close to one to one, up to ten dining experiences from Koko’s Asian Fusion to Lumière, a Senses Spa, two helicopters and the submersible Scenic Neptune.

Freechoice is the included excursion choice offered each day in port, such as a walking tour, a bike ride or a cooking class. Scenic Enrich is a more exclusive, ticketed event only Scenic guests attend, such as a private concert in a European palace or an evening among the temples of Angkor. Both are included in your fare.

When is the best time to cruise with Scenic?

Europe’s rivers run April to December, with Christmas Market cruises in late November and December. The Mekong sails year-round, with a cooler, drier season from November to March. Scenic Eclipse II’s Antarctica season runs November to March; its Kimberley and Queensland season is set to return in 2028.
