Celebrity sits a step above the big-ship lines without the formality of the luxury ones. The ships are designed by hotel and interior names (Kelly Hoppen, Tom Wright), the food is the best of any line in this price range, and the guests skew adult, although Camp at Sea keeps children busy.

Sydney. Celebrity bases one or two ships there from October to April each year (Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Solstice for 2026 to 2027), sailing round trip to New Zealand, the South Pacific islands and the Great Barrier Reef, with one-way repositioning cruises to Singapore at the end of the season.
The Retreat is Celebrity’s suite programme. Every suite guest gets Luminae, a private restaurant with its own menu, The Retreat Lounge, a private sundeck with pool on Edge class ships, a dedicated host, and a fare that already includes a premium drinks package, premium Wi-Fi, 24 hour room service and laundry.
Standard drinks such as water, tea, coffee and juice at breakfast are included. Alcohol, soft drinks and specialty coffee are not, unless you buy a drinks package or sail in The Retreat, where the premium package is included.
Edge if you want the newest design, Infinite Veranda cabins and the widest choice of restaurants; it is the more expensive ship. Solstice if you prefer a classic layout with a real lawn on the top deck, and lower fares; it was fully renewed in 2026 so the cabins and restaurants are current.
Families are welcome and Camp at Sea runs a full programme for ages 3 to 17, but there are no water slides or kids’ pools. Most guests are couples and the ships are quieter than Royal Caribbean or Carnival. AquaClass cabins are adults only.
Yes. Fares sold in Australia include gratuities, and the prices on this page include port taxes and government fees. Drinks packages and specialty dining still carry a service charge.
