All-suite, virtually all-inclusive ultra-luxury: open bar, gratuities and Wi-Fi included, caviar on request. Seabourn Quest sails around Australia on its 2027 world cruise, and Seabourn Pursuit runs the Kimberley each winter.
Seabourn is small-ship, ultra-luxury cruising: six all-suite ships carrying between 264 and 604 guests each, with a crew numbering nearly as many as the guests and a personal suite host for every suite. Premium spirits, fine wines, gratuities and Wi-Fi are included in the fare, and Chef Thomas Keller’s steakhouse, The Grill, sits alongside the ship’s other complimentary restaurants. It suits well-travelled couples and solo travellers who want personalised, unstructured luxury rather than a big-ship itinerary of poolside announcements and formal nights.
Two ships bring Seabourn to Australia. In March 2027 Seabourn Quest arrives in Sydney on its world cruise and continues clockwise around the country, with sectors from Sydney to Fremantle and Fremantle to Brisbane calling at Tasmania, Kangaroo Island, the Kimberley, Papua New Guinea, Cairns and Airlie Beach, before sailing on from Brisbane via Norfolk Island to the South Pacific and Hawaii in April; Quest’s world cruise returns to Sydney in March 2029. From May to August 2027 the expedition ship Seabourn Pursuit runs 10-night Kimberley voyages between Darwin and Broome, with Zodiac landings at King George River, Montgomery Reef and Talbot Bay, plus longer voyages to Indonesia and Papua New Guinea either side of the season.
Every suite has a veranda from Penthouse Suite up, and the ocean ships add a small city of complimentary restaurants: The Restaurant, The Colonnade, The Patio, and the specialty Earth & Ocean and Solis, plus a dedicated sushi restaurant on Encore or evening sushi in The Club on Quest. The retractable Seabourn Marina lowers kayaks, paddleboards and a floating platform off the stern on calm days, and Seabourn Square is the social hub for coffee, pastries and the ship’s library.

Seabourn Quest around Australia on its 2027 world cruise, and the expedition ship Seabourn Pursuit in the Kimberley each winter.
Odyssey class · Launched 2011 · 458 guests · Sails from Sydney, Fremantle and Brisbane (2027)
Seabourn Quest
Seabourn’s ocean ship in Australian waters, and the ship where The Grill by Thomas Keller made its debut in 2016. In 2027 Quest arrives in Sydney on a round-the-world sector and continues clockwise around the country, calling at Tasmania, the Kimberley, Papua New Guinea, Cairns, Airlie Beach, Brisbane and Norfolk Island. Sushi is served in The Club after dark rather than in a dedicated restaurant.
Venture class · Launched 2023 · 264 guests · Sails from Broome and Darwin
Seabourn Pursuit
Seabourn’s purpose-built expedition ship runs the Kimberley in the Australian winter, from Broome or Darwin, with Zodiacs for landings and wildlife viewing, a 23-strong expedition team of biologists and historians, and cultural visits hosted by Traditional Landowners. Even here the Seabourn inclusions hold: premium spirits, fine wines, gratuities and Wi-Fi are included, and evening sushi is served in The Club.
Also in the fleet: Seabourn Encore and its sister ship Seabourn Ovation, sailing Japan, Southeast Asia and Alaska; Seabourn Sojourn, Quest’s sister ship; and Seabourn Venture, Pursuit’s sister expedition ship, which sails Antarctica, the Arctic and the Galapagos. Australians can fly-cruise on any of them in Europe, Asia, Alaska and the Americas.

Seabourn, answered
Where does Seabourn sail from in Australia?
In March and April 2027 Seabourn Quest’s world cruise has sectors starting in Sydney, Fremantle and Brisbane, and it returns to Sydney and Fremantle in March 2029. From May to August 2027 the expedition ship Seabourn Pursuit runs the Kimberley between Darwin and Broome. Seabourn Encore is sailing Japan, Southeast Asia and Alaska rather than Australia in these seasons. Tell us your dates and we will find the sailing that fits.
What is included in a Seabourn fare?
Your suite, all dining across every restaurant on board, an open bar of premium spirits and fine wines poured at any hour, a welcome bottle of champagne, gratuities and Wi-Fi. Complimentary caviar and champagne are available poolside on request. Shore excursions are extra on the ocean ships; Zodiac landings and guided walks are included on the Kimberley expedition.
What is Seabourn Quest like?
An all-suite Odyssey-class ship for 458 guests, launched in 2011 and the ship where The Grill by Thomas Keller made its debut in 2016. Suites run from Ocean View to Owner’s Suites, dining across every restaurant is included, and sushi is served in The Club after dark rather than in a dedicated restaurant.
Is Seabourn good for families?
Seabourn suits well-travelled couples, solo travellers and retirees more than young families: there is no kids’ club, no waterslides and no big-ship entertainment. Families with older teenagers wanting a quieter, all-inclusive ship, or a genuine expedition on Seabourn Pursuit, are the exception.
What is a Kimberley expedition day like on Seabourn Pursuit?
Mornings and afternoons ashore or on the water by Zodiac, at places such as King George Falls, Montgomery Reef and Horizontal Falls, led by a 23-strong expedition team of biologists and historians. Cultural visits are hosted by Traditional Landowners, and the ship still pours premium spirits and fine wines included in the fare each evening.
When is the best time to sail Seabourn to Australia?
March and April 2027 for Seabourn Quest’s world cruise sectors around Australia, when the south coast and Tasmania are still mild and the tropical north is past its wet season. May to August is the Kimberley’s dry season, and the only time Seabourn Pursuit runs its Darwin to Broome expeditions.
