Fiji is the heart of this one, with two long port days: Suva, the capital, from ten in the morning until nine at night, and Lautoka on the west coast of Viti Levu, the gateway to the Mamanuca islands, until eight. Before them comes Nouméa, for the lagoon beaches and the French food, and after them a day at Royal Beach Club on Lelepa, a small island off Efate in Vanuatu, and Lifou in the Loyalty Islands, with its limestone cliffs and clear water. Days at sea on the way out and home give the trip an easy rhythm, ending in Sydney on 12 March.
