The dates are the whole point of this one. You board on the 21st and the ship stays the night in Sydney Harbour, so Christmas week starts before you have gone anywhere. Two days at sea follow, and then Christmas Day itself is spent in the fiords: Milford Sound first thing, Doubtful Sound around lunch, Dusky Sound in the late afternoon, all from the deck with a drink in your hand. Boxing Day is Dunedin for the Otago Peninsula and the albatross colony, then Christchurch, a sea day, Auckland from six in the morning until eight at night, and the Bay of Islands. New Year’s Eve is at sea on the way back, which is the easiest new year anybody ever had, and you are home in Sydney on 2 January.

All times are local and subject to change. The fiords are scenic cruising, so you see them from the ship rather than going ashore, and they are weather dependent.
