March often brings New Zealand’s most settled weather: warm days, cooler nights and fewer visitors. After the fiord day, Milford, Doubtful and Dusky Sounds one after another, Celebrity Edge spends the day in Dunedin, sailing at four, and reaches Wellington at half past eleven the next morning, staying until eight in the evening: time for Te Papa, the cable car and dinner on the waterfront. After a day at sea come Tauranga, a full day in Auckland and the Bay of Islands, before two days at sea home to Sydney on 24 March.
