This is the summer-holiday South Pacific sailing, and the overnight is what sets it apart: Celebrity Edge tenders into Port Vila on the Saturday morning and stays until Sunday afternoon, so you can take the Blue Lagoon and the cascades at Mele one day and still have a slow second morning ashore. Before that come Nouméa, French to its bones, and Mystery Island, uninhabited and ringed by reef. Luganville puts you on Espiritu Santo, where the SS President Coolidge lies in clear water close enough to shore for a first dive, and Lifou finishes the run with white sand and swimming straight off the beach. Around the ports, five days at sea on Celebrity Edge, with the Magic Carpet moving up the side of the ship and the Rooftop Garden above.
