French Polynesia is a long way from Australia by air, and this is the gentler way there. Celebrity Edge calls at the Bay of Islands on the way out of the Tasman, then crosses the International Date Line, so one day happens twice, on the way to Raiatea, the sacred island, where the marae at Taputapuatea is a World Heritage site and the ship stays until nine at night. Papeete follows, sixteen hours in port for the market and the black-sand beaches of Tahiti, then Moorea, where the lagoon is shallow and clear enough to stand among stingrays and blacktip reef sharks. Five days at sea take you north to Honolulu, where the ship arrives at seven in the morning and stays the night, so there is a full day for Waikiki, Diamond Head or Pearl Harbor before you go ashore for good.

One-way sailing: flights to Sydney and home from Honolulu are not included, ask us to quote them. Honolulu is a US port, so every guest needs to meet US entry requirements before sailing; most Australians travel on an ESTA. The ship crosses the International Date Line on day 6, so one calendar day happens twice. All times are local and subject to change; the Bay of Islands, Raiatea and Moorea are tendered. Lead-in fare is per person, twin share, taxes and fees included, at the time of publishing.
