The wine is the point of this one, and the port times are what make it work. Adelaide and Melbourne are both twelve hour days, long enough to get out to the Barossa or the Yarra Valley, take lunch slowly and still be back well before the gangway closes. Hobart gives you nine hours, which covers the Coal River Valley cellar doors half an hour from the wharf, or kunanyi / Mount Wellington if you would rather have the view. Kangaroo Island is a tender day with eleven hours ashore, enough for Seal Bay, Flinders Chase and one of the island’s small producers. Four days at sea sit between the ports, on Celebrity Edge with the Magic Carpet moving up the side of the ship and the Rooftop Garden above.
